Shed burglary - Sussex Road - Can you help?

A burglary from an outbuilding (shed) has been reported in Ickenham, this follows on from a number of similar shed burglaries in the area earlier this year.

The theft took place between midnight and 0800hrs on Saturday 22 August from a shed at the rear of a house in Sussex Road towards the end of the cul-de-sac on the odd numbered side.

Tools were stolen but unfortunately no CCTV has yet been identified to reveal further information to the police.

Action required please:

Please check CCTV and video doorbells, particularly if you live close to the scene, for indications of any times, vehicles and/or footfall.

Crime prevention:

Sheds are extremely vulnerable, so please make sure that your back garden is difficult to access, that your shed has good locks that are used every time you put away your tools, fit a battery-powered alarm that gives you a short time to enter the shed and silence it, and fit CCTV covering your shed or fence entry points. If you back on to open land deploy spiky plants such as holly, berberis or pyracantha to deter criminals from climbing. Or fit fence spikes which require the relevant warning notice to be fitted.
